Sports Massage in Camberley

Elevate your athletic performance with sports massage treatment at Camberley Osteopathic Clinic.

Our practitioners will first assess you before using any number of techniques from general massage (the classic effleurage, petrissage and tapotement moves) through to pressure point work and active and passive stretches.

Although sports massage is a discipline many associate with only athletes or sports enthusiasts, this is not the case. Our practitioners very much tailor each treatment to the individual and often treat people for simply a general deep tissue massage, equally they also treat everyday musculoskeletal problems as well as the sporting injuries.

What we are Able to Help With

Sports massage can be used to treat many problems from fairly general chronic tension and muscle soreness to specific sporting injuries.

Although it is a discipline many associate with only athletes or sports enthusiasts this is not the case. We see patients of all ages from teenagers upwards.

Our therapists here not only see patients coming to them directly for treatment but they also work closely alongside our osteopathic team receiving direct referrals from them. The combination of the two treatments have been found to be extremely effective.

Massage sessions are often good in the later stages of osteopathic care when rehabilitation is key. It can also been used alongside osteopathic treatment particularly where chronic muscle tension is a problem.

If you are unsure if we may be able to help with your symptoms or you do not know which discipline may be most suitable for you, please do contact us either by phone or email where we can provide you with further information and advice.

FAQs

Are the massage therapists qualified and insured?

Massage therapists are not governed by one particular regulatory body like osteopaths, however all our practitioners are fully qualified and insured to practice.

We run two session lengths 40 minutes and 1hour, you can opt for either when booking. If you are a completely new patient to us we would recommend and often require you to book a 1 hour session for your first appointment, but thereafter you can choose or go on the recommendation of your practitioner.
You do not need to wear specific clothing however, if you feel more comfortable you may like to consider looser clothing or shorts and a vest. It really very much depends on the areas the practitioner needs to work.
It is often the case that you maybe asked to undress down to underwear (you will be given privacy to do this). However, if your practitioner is only working on a localised area then you may be able to wear clothing such as shorts.
